Problem: In large commercial operations your focus is to decrease overheads wherever possible. Our clients were experiencing high energy usage to cool their building during summer months along with extreme temperature variations throughout different levels and areas of the building. Overall our clients hoped to achieve a reduction in energy consumption, reduce heat and glare whilst maintaining natural light. They also did not want to change the external facade greatly.

Problem: Building office spaces with glass walls is very popular these days, unfortunately the heat and glare effects are often underestaimated. This Ausgrid office was suffering from exactly that - excessive heat and glare through the large windows.

CENTRO SHOPPING CENTRE

Problem: Reducing energy consumption was what Centro Warriewood had in mind when the centre awarded TintFX the contract to install solar control window Silver 20 Solar Film onto its 15m high skylight. While the rooftop atrium filled the centre with bright natural light, the downside was that the heat and UV would also pass through.

FACADE INNOVATIONS - OVERSEAS PASSENGER TERMINAL

Problem: As part of the Circular Quay / Overseas Passenger Terminal refurbishment our client wanted to create a fresh uniform finish on their premises and obscure some internal workings. This required the removal of old worn film, and the application of new frosted film and vinyl on the glass.

Currently the installed glazing consists of a Double Glazed Unit with Reflective Performance Glass Outer Layer with Clear on the Inner Layer. Complaints from the team were of high heat and glare issues with this Northerly facing building and the blinds were regularly down and air-con on high. Another major issue was the external facade could not change greatly .

For TintFX that meant absolutely every aspect of film, graphics and signage was to be recreated under the new Service NSW branding.

Problem: This client's enviable position directly on the coast results in high solar exposure. For most of the day high volumes of bright light cascades through the windows, and being an old building the windows are fairly small and this resulted in bright and dark patches. Wolfies wanted more even lighting throughout their eating space.
